Visiting A Neurosurgeon

Patients visiting our neurosurgery clinic for care with Dr. Diabaté are welcome to bring a support person to assist with communication, mobility, or decision-making. We want every patient and family member to feel safe, informed, and comfortable throughout the visit.

As clinical needs evolve, we may adjust our visitor guidelines to ensure the highest level of safety for patients, caregivers, and our health care team while maintaining compassionate access for all.

GUIDELINES

Guidelines At A Glance

A neurosurgical consultation is an important step in understanding conditions that affect the brain, spine, or nerves, and in planning the care you need. Meeting with our team allows Dr. Diabaté to review your symptoms, assess imaging such as MRI or CT scans, and discuss treatment options before problems become more serious. Your visit also gives you time to ask questions, understand risks and benefits, and receive guidance on next steps for managing pain, mobility issues, or neurological concerns.

Our neurosurgery visits include assessment, education, treatment planning, and coordination of tests or imaging based on your condition and medical needs.

Public Entrances

  • Everyone can now enter and exit the General site through Entrance 2 West and Entrance 1 South between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. and through Entrance 1 South after hours by pressing the intercom button beside the public entrance door to gain access.

Expanded Visitor Access

    • Patients can have visitors 24 hours a day according to their preference, with two visitors at the bed side at a time to maintain physical distancing.
    • To support families, children under 14 are excluded from this limit. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is not a patient and wear a mask provided by Meca.
    • Visits with patients admitted to a unit with a declared outbreak may be considered. Speak with your patient's care team.
    • Outpatients can have up to two visitors accompany them for an appointment.
    • To ensure everyone's safety and comfort, the patient's care team may make exceptions to the above.
    • Pre-booking and signing into the unit upon arrival is no longer required.
    • Virtual visits are still available over MS Teams or Facetime. To arrange a virtual visit, connect directly with the patient's nursing unit.
